Shireen West / Sponsorship, Presenter
Shireen West shows
Growing up in England in the 50’s Shireen listened to the BBC, always wanting to be a presenter. She used her Grandma’s big wooden spoon as her microphone while ‘presenting’ her own show! Alas, in those day’s presenters were very posh and came from ‘proper’ backgrounds – so she believed there was no hope for her. Her love of radio has never waned, so when the opportunity to join BCRfm came along, she could not believe her luck.
Shireen’s passionate about the Crooners, Big Bands, Swing Bands and Jazz of the 1940’s and 50’s. Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller feature regularly in her weekly Sunday Serenade. Sometimes, ‘The All American Song Book’ could be covered by a very unusual performer. She also plays classic songs of the 60’s and she just loves an unusual duet. So, tune in every Sunday at 7pm and relax with the sounds of the classic songs and hits from the shows.
